SAN ANTONIO – With an ever-expanding array of styles, looks and materials available, homeowners have many choices in garage doors. The expanded showroom, which is located in a newly remodeled building at the existing Hollywood-Crawford location at 11234 Gordon Rd., allows homeowners to see the many different designs available in garage doors.
“Garage doors are about aesthetics as much as function today,” said Randy Oliver, president of Hollywood-Crawford Garage Door Company. “They are an important part of the overall appearance of any home’s exterior, and homeowners have a lot of options to get exactly the look they want.”
Whether building a new home or upgrading an existing home, homeowners can choose from a wide range of styles, panels, colors, windows and decorative hardware for garage doors. Some of the trends on display include modern, contemporary looks with frosted glass, white laminated glass, even mirrored glass. Wood-look doors, typically steel painted to look like wood, are also popular. The showroom features one door made entirely of copper and designed to weather to a patina.
The latest in garage door openers are also on display in the showroom. Manufacturers offer smart garage door openers that allow homeowners to operate their doors from a smartphone. Apps let homeowner know if a door is open, enable them to open and close the door remotely from their phone and even let them schedule to close their garage door at a specific time each evening or after it has been left open for a pre-determined amount of time.
